CerModern
Ankara, Turkey, established 2010
A modern art centre in restored railway workshops in Sıhhiye, Ankara.

About
CerModern is an art centre in Sıhhiye, Ankara. It occupies the former Cer workshops north of Ankara Station, where locomotives were repaired in the early years of the Republic. The centre opened in 2010 after a restoration project begun in 1998, and Zihni Tümer, one of its founding partners, directs its culture and art programmes.
Its halls host a changing programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions. The centre sets out to bring art into everyday life and to make its shows readable for every visitor. Alongside the galleries it runs CerÇocuk, a children's art workshop started in 2011, the CerEdebiyat literature programme, a library and the Flow Digital Theatre for light, sound and image.
The bronze Water Nymphs statue, brought to Ankara from Italy in 1924, stands in front of the building.
