About

The Beykoz Glass and Crystal Museum is a museum of glass in Beykoz, Istanbul, run by the Directorate of National Palaces under the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. It is named after the Beykoz imperial glass and crystal factory, the foremost Ottoman glassworks, which stood in the same district.

The museum occupies a restored stable block from the estate of Abraham Pasha, chamberlain to the Khedive İsmail Pasha of Egypt. In the 19th century he built pavilions, aviaries, pools, a theatre and stables on his Beykoz land. The U-shaped stone building stands in wooded grounds of about 360 decares, planted with 117 tree species.

The collection follows the development of Turkish glass art and adds pieces made in Europe for the Ottoman palaces. Some 1,480 objects are on view, arranged in 12 themed sections.
