Ara Güler Museum
Istanbul, Turkey, established 2018
A museum of photography devoted to Ara Güler, in the old Bomonti brewery in Şişli, Istanbul.

About
The Ara Güler Museum is a private museum of photography in Bomontiada, the former Bomonti beer factory in Şişli, Istanbul. It grew out of a partnership between the photographer Ara Güler and Doğuş Group, and opened on 16 August 2018, his 90th birthday, with Güler present.
The museum exists to share Güler's work, life and archive, and to show what photography can do through exhibitions, publications and events at home and abroad. Its programme mixes Güler's own pictures with shows by other photographers. Robert Capa: Truth is the Best Picture ran from September 2025 to April 2026, and CANNES! drew on Güler's festival photographs. Entry is free.
Also in Bomontiada, the Ara Güler Archives and Research Center keeps his photographic archive along with his cameras, darkroom equipment, diaries and letters, and works on digitising them. Güler, born in Istanbul in 1928, photographed for Time, Life and Paris Match and died in October 2018. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism recognised the museum as an official private museum in 2022.
