About

Alserkal Arts Foundation is a non-profit arts organisation based at Alserkal Avenue, the cultural district in Al Quoz, Dubai. Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal announced its formation in March 2019. Supported by the Alserkal family, it is one of three parts of Alserkal, beside Alserkal Advisory and the Avenue itself.

The Foundation works through public art commissions, residencies, research grants and education. Its studios, designed by the UAE collective a hypothetical office, host two residency cycles each year for artists, writers, curators and researchers chosen by nomination. Residents in 2025 included Hussein Nassereddine, Essa Grayeb and Rana Anani.

It also develops exhibitions and projects with partner institutions, such as A Slightly Curving Place, curated by Nida Ghouse in 2023. In 2020 the Alserkal Cultural Foundation, set up by Ahmad Bin Eisa Alserkal in 2007, came under its umbrella. Its Common Room in Warehouse 51 gives researchers free desk space and access to JSTOR.
