About

Qatar Museums Gallery Al Riwaq is an exhibition hall in Doha run by Qatar Museums for temporary shows. It sits beside the Museum of Islamic Art, facing MIA Park. It holds no collection of its own and presents a changing programme of exhibitions.

Its earlier shows included Ego by Takashi Murakami in 2012, Relics by Damien Hirst in 2013 and a Richard Serra retrospective in 2014. Later came Luc Tuymans, a Dia Al-Azzawi retrospective in 2016 and Jeff Koons: Lost in America in 2021. From October 2022 to April 2023 it hosted Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World.

Its most recent exhibition, I. M. Pei: Life Is Architecture, opened on 30 October 2025 and closed on 14 February 2026. Qatar Museums organised it with M+ as the first full-scale retrospective of the architect. The foyer and an outdoor area overlooking the park can also be hired for events.
