About

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, known as ADMAF, is a cultural foundation based in Abu Dhabi. Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo founded it in 1996. In 2004 she launched the Abu Dhabi Festival, which ADMAF runs as its main programme and which she directs.

In the visual arts, ADMAF works mainly through awards for artists and designers in the UAE. The Gulf Capital ADMAF Visual Arts Award, started in 2013, supports emerging Emirati artists, and each winner shows at the festival. With NYU Abu Dhabi, ADMAF backs the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award, which helps a young artist make a public work. Further awards cover jewellery, fashion, sustainable design and art made with advanced technology.

ADMAF also stages exhibitions. For Abu Dhabi Art 2025 it took over the Community Partners space at Manarat Al Saadiyat with Salasil, a curatorial studio, around the theme of Mutual Systems. The foundation marks its thirtieth year in 2026.
