About
212 Photography Istanbul is a festival and platform for photography and the visual arts, held in Istanbul since 2018. It treats the city as its exhibition space, drawing on Istanbul's layered, intercultural character.
Each edition traces a new route through historic buildings, independent art spaces and galleries. Alongside its exhibitions, the programme takes in talks, workshops, film screenings and portfolio reviews. It also runs the International 212 Photography Competition, open to amateur and professional photographers of every age.
The ninth edition ran from 26 September to 11 October 2026, with tickets sold through Biletix. Its listed locations include the MSGSÜ Tophane-i Amire Culture and Art Center, the Galata Okulu Vakfı Kültür Merkezi and the Tarihi Hüsrev Kethüda Hamamı. They also include the Institut français in Istanbul and Zorlu Center for Performing Arts. Before that edition, the festival marked 200 years of photography with a public programme at Pera Museum.
