Sharjah Art Foundation

Sharjah Art Foundation was established in 2009 by Hoor Al Qasimi to support artists and artistic practice in Sharjah, the UAE and the wider region. It organises the Sharjah Biennial, held since 1993, and the March Meeting, an annual gathering of art professionals launched in 2008.

The Foundation's exhibitions and events run every day of the week across a network of venues, many of them converted heritage buildings and public courtyards, from Al Mureijah Square and the Photography Gallery in Al Manakh to the Flying Saucer and the Kalba Ice Factory. Alongside exhibitions it runs residencies, production grants, commissions, a collection, publications and learning programmes, and most shows are free to visit.
