About
Öktem Aykut is a contemporary art gallery on Meşrutiyet Caddesi in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Doğa Öktem and Tankut Aykut opened it in November 2014. The gallery represents Turkish and international artists at different points in their careers, and looks for practices that share a critical view of present-day social conditions.
Its programme runs mainly to solo exhibitions. Recent shows include Lékélée by Renée Levi in 2025, Gökçen Cabadan's Anti-Baby in 2025 and Dual and Plural for Alpagut Gültekin, a show of works by Sarkis, in 2026. The gallery also takes its artists to fairs. In 2026 it brought Stijn Ank and Murat Yıldız to Artissima in Turin, its sixth time at the fair.
In April and May 2026 the gallery space hosted the first season of Aynıyer, a series of music, theatre and dance performances programmed alongside the exhibitions.
