About
The Musée Mohammed VI d'Art Moderne et Contemporain (MMVI) opened in Rabat in October 2014 as the first museum in Morocco dedicated entirely to modern and contemporary art and designed to international museographic standards. It is run by the Fondation Nationale des Musées (FNM), which oversees Morocco's national museum network.
Its collection holds more than 500 works, with major Moroccan names including Mohamed Melehi, Jilali Gharbaoui, Mohamed Hamidi, Farid Belkahia, Mohamed Kacimi, Miloud Labied and Malika Agueznay. Alongside its permanent display, the museum has exhibited artists including Giacometti, Goya, Picasso, Delacroix, Cartier-Bresson, Hassan El Glaoui and Chaïbia Tallal, and in 2026 a programme devoted entirely to Moroccan artists, including a Mohamed Melehi retrospective.
