Matti Sirvio Art Galleria

Matti Sirvio Art Galleria is an artist-run gallery in Muscat that was founded in September 2017 by the Finnish expressionist painter Matti Sirviö, who lived and worked in the city. It describes itself as specialising in contemporary abstract and semi-abstract art from Oman and the wider MENA region, with the motto 'We are looking for the picture behind the picture, working hard to make the invisible visible.'

From its first-floor space in the Jawharat Al Shatti complex in Qurum, the gallery stages group shows of Omani and Muscat-based artists alongside Sirviö's own work. It also runs art leasing, framing and consultancy services, and has a seasonal summer outpost in Karigasniemi, Finnish Lapland.
