About
The Dubai gallery has three exhibition spaces under 32-foot ceilings, across 16,500 square feet in Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz 1. It opened in 2015 as the gallery's first space outside New York. In October 2022 the three rooms held simultaneous solo shows by Marwan Sahmarani, Parinaz Eleish Gharagozlou and Azza Al Qubaisi.
The gallery describes its programme as an exchange between Western artists and artists from the Middle East and from Central and Southeast Asia. In 2017 it organised an outdoor display of three sculptures by Tony Cragg at the Dubai International Financial Centre Gate, as part of UK/UAE 2017. In 2024 Behrang Samadzadegan curated the group exhibition ...I Kept The Night Vigil... in the Dubai space, with work by women artists including Shirin Neshat, Farideh Lashai and Shiva Ahmadi. Alongside exhibitions it organises educational panels, film screenings, catalogues and books, art fair presentations and projects away from the gallery.
Its New York gallery, at 22 East 80th Street on the Upper East Side, deals mainly in the secondary market. The gallery was based in Chelsea from 2010 until March 2019, when it went back uptown.
