About

Gallery Misr is a commercial gallery at 4A Ibn Zinky Street in Zamalek, Cairo. It opened to the public in June 2011 and was founded by the artist Mohamed Talaat. Its programme runs to solo and group exhibitions of painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and audio and video installation.

The gallery states its focus as work by Egyptian artists. Those it lists include Adel El Siwi, Souad Abdelrasoul, Ayman El Semary, Rania Abu Elazm, Nour Elglaly, Aya Gamil, Ayman Abu Khozaym and Aliaa Elgready, together with Mahmoud Obaidi, Serwan Baran and Bahram Hajou. Exhibitions on its record include Re-Envision by Aliaa Elgready (2023) and Folklacra by Nour Elglaly (2026), as well as Ballots to Bullets, Atlas, Charisma, City Nights, Where I Belong and Mixtures.

Beyond Cairo, Gallery Misr takes its artists to art fairs. These include Art Basel Qatar, Art Week Riyadh, Abu Dhabi Art in 2023 and 2025, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in London in 2025, and Freej Art Doha. The gallery is open Saturday to Thursday, 11am to 8pm, and closed on Friday.
