Fateh Moudarres Studio Gallery

The Fateh Moudarres Studio Gallery occupies the Damascus studio of Fateh Moudarres (1922 to 1999), one of the most prominent pioneers of modern Syrian art, who was born in the village of Haritan, north of Aleppo. Established in 1967 on Al-Najma Square in the Shaalan district, the studio served for five decades as an artistic space that helped shape the careers of several artists and is regarded as a landmark of Syria's visual arts scene.

The studio was restored as part of the Restoring Syria's Visual Arts Memory project, carried out by the Syrian Ministry of Culture with the Damascus Foundation for Culture, Thought, Arts and Development. The work, which took around two months, protected the walls from damp, renewed the electrics and lighting, and preserved the artist's tools and a large mural. It reopened as a gallery on 20 September 2026.
