About

Dirimart is a commercial gallery founded in Istanbul in 2002 by Hazer Özil. It runs two spaces in the Beyoğlu district, in Dolapdere and in Pera, and a third in Mayfair, London. The Pera space is at Meşrutiyet Caddesi No: 99.

The programme sets established and emerging artists from Turkey and abroad side by side, with an emphasis on conceptual practice, political resistance and intellectual rigour. Established names in its programme include Sarah Morris, Ayşe Erkmen, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, İnci Eviner, Canan Tolon and Karin Kneffel. Emerging artists include Çağla Ulusoy, Berke Yazıcıoğlu and Ebru Duruman.

Beside its exhibitions, the gallery publishes exhibition catalogues, artist books and writing on art theory under the Dirimart and RES Publications imprints, the latter set up in 2007.
