Said Hedaya: Retrospective

Said Hedaya: Retrospective is a solo exhibition of work by the Egyptian artist and printmaker Said Hedaya (1937 to 2017). It is held in the temporary exhibition halls of the Gezira Art Center, Zamalek, Cairo, from 30 September to 15 October 2026.

The Fine Arts Sector organises the retrospective. Its head, Mahmoud Hamed, links the work to Alexandria, where Hedaya grew up in the Sidi Bishr district. He names the sea, mawlid festivals and folk rituals as sources for the work.

Hedaya entered the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria when it was founded in 1958. He later became one of the founders of the Contemporary Egyptian Printmaking group.
