Rana Begum's practice explores the interplay between light and colour, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture. Her visual vocabulary draws on urban environments and on the geometric patterns of traditional Islamic design, and she works across metal, glass, stone, paper, wood and textiles, choosing each material for the way it absorbs or reflects light.
