Hussein Shariffe

Hussein Shariffe was born in Omdurman on 7 July 1934. After studying Modern History at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, and architecture at Sheffield, he trained at the Slade School of Fine Art in London under Lucian Freud, and held his first solo exhibitions at Gallery One in London in 1958 and 1960.
